Passwords Expirations, Password Changes and Password Resets have been a major pain point for users of mobile devices in a Kerberos environment. It was often the case that if your support team was resetting a user’s password and forcing the user to change the password after login, the user would’ve needed to switch to a Windows machine to do so. This is the same story if the password had expired.

Why resetting password is expensive
If you ask an IT help-desk worker what is the most asked request, he will tell you it is the Password reset. Password queries can make from 20% up to 50% of the desk calls.
A password reset can be done in under a half hour but please keep in mind, the reset involves at least two employees – the IT-Specialist and the requester who is blocked until the problem is solved.
