Software innovation, like almost every other kind of innovation, requires the ability to collaborate and share ideas with other people, and to sit down and talk with customers and get their feedback and understand their needs.
— Bill Gates
This is the reason why MWC exists. Meet people and have a conversation face to face, have a hands on experience and get to know new companies and people.
We just came back from MWC 2019 and we are pretty excited to share our impressions. It was a very intense time for our Hypergate Team. We departed on Monday evening from Switzerland to attend the world’s biggest Tech mass.
Tuesday and Wednesday were the main focus point for Hypergate. Many meetings, huge halls, many booths which all adds up to a huge maze. It took us a while to figure out how to get around. For those among you planning to be at MWC 2020. Wear comfortable shoes. One easily clocks 20,000 steps each day.
First day
Nevertheless, we had the amazing chance to meet very interesting people working for major tech giants such as Google, Huawei, Nokia, Samsung and many more of the well known brands. However, these huge tech giants represent a pretty small fraction of the number of companies which have attended. More than 2400 companies gathering to bring the latest innovations and leading-edge technologies to MWC19 .
On Tuesday we had the chance to meet key connections for Hypergate. We met potential distributors and venders. Furthermore, we had the chance to meet with Jason Bayton which is a well known figure in the Mobile enterprise world and also known as an Android Enterprise nerd with much expertise in this field.
Talking to him gave us great insights for moving forward with Hypergate. He has his own Blog, which we absolutely recommend. He write and is member of the new blog website mobilepros. Join them on Slack – We have created a slack channel to allow people to communicate with each other and get informed about Hypergate.
While wandering through the halls we came across the Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) booth. Together with Swatch they announced SwatchPay! using a smart card chip secure mobile payment. Also they use this technology for Device Management and Secure Connectivity for example in cars. We had an interesting talk with the Head of Business Line Enterprise & Service Provide because Hypergate simulates a smart card for the daily usage.
In the afternoon, we met our dear friends from MobileIron who also had a booth at the MWC. However, most of the public is not aware that as of now, thanks to the Hypergate solution, both iOS and Android support Single Sign On.
After endless calls and meetings, we got invited by Appaloosa for a chit chat and a few drinks. This proved to be a great success as we could again have a great time while talking. Appaloosa is a French Start-Up located in Paris.
Second day
Wednesday did not look very different. We had many meetings scheduled as well as phone calls throughout the whole day. Chats with Nokia and a meetup with Google and specialized EMMs like SOTI, which is a Canadian Company. They mostly had a interest in our solution, for their Rugged devices.
We had the opportunity to met Søren Linde who is a Senior Mobility Consultant at Conscia our Danish partner. Overall, we had many requests for partnerships, interesting talks with distributors and venders from all across the globe and future testing of our solution.
We are extremely happy about this outcome as we can see our effort paying off.
For those of you that are reading this and we didn’t have the chance to meet but are interested in Hypergate, do not hesitate to get in touch with us right now via [email protected]!
